So Very: House Porn, My Best Stevie, She's Got Keri Russell Eyes

My Best Stevie
On Friday night, I went to a Stevie Nicks fan event called Night of 1000 Stevie's where people dress up as her and perform as her. No, I'm not kidding. I wore my long black cape, my long black skirt, heeled boots, danced to "Edge Of Seventeen," tried on this black choker and twirled around and around.

Stevie Nicks fangirl Alana Levinson and I live-blogged it for Matter. The highlight of the night for me was the performance of "Sara." Here's Stevie in 1979 singing "Sara," which I think is so Morrissey, right?
Drowning in the sea of love
Where every lover, who loves, loves to drown.
She's Got Keri Russell Eyes
How do you do eyes like this? One day I'd like a lesson.

House Porn
Let's live here.

And here.

And here. (I have a thing for pink couches.)

Missoula by Jon Krakauer
My husband told me not to read Missoula: Rape And The Justice System In A College Town. If you are not aware, Missoula, Montana is known as the "rape capital of America." 80 rapes were reported from 2009-2012. Those were just the REPORTED rapes.
I'm going to read it anyway because you can't hide from it. Because I want to know.
Jon Krakauer was interviewed by a round table of feminists for Matter which is pretty fantastic. He said, among other things: "If you're not a feminist, then you're a problem."

What I'm Reading And Watching
Men are funny sometimes! Holy crap, I didn't know Elizabeth Banks directed Pitch Perfect 2. Go lady directors! Dadbods. Writer Jon Gondelman on cleaning up after himself and not living like a hoarder. Ta-Nehisi Coates talks about race in Baltimore. The New York Times is like, hey, all the cool people are moving to LA! Here's one story on that topic: "Why I Left NY And Also Technology." TIP: If you move to LA, bring your own water. Jon Snow and Melisandre? Amy Schumer, goddess. Abstinence-based sex ed does not work, people. On being a female hermit. Sexy wedding dresses. Grilling scallions.
