So Very: On The Bus or Off The Bus?; My Stevie Nicks Wardrobe

I scroll through high end out-of-my-budget fashion sites for calm and meditative pause. In the past, before 11/9, places like No. 6 Store and NSF and Barney’s were a fantasy-like oasis where my mind could wander into beautiful clothes, $400 vintage patched jeans and handmade clogs. I fill up the carts pretending I have an enormous budgets like the rest of the beautiful people. But it’s not working right now. That fashion fantasy, that distraction. It simply isn’t working.
I guess that's the point. That the usual distractions can't work when a minority of the country elects a facist for president. I can't imagine the inauguration. I can't imagine the first time he addresses the country in the State of the Union.
I'm going to the Women's March on Washington on January 21. I'm going with friends, family. My sister-in-law is flying in from Los Angeles. My 12 year old, soon to be 13 year old asked to come with me. "It's going to be a long day on the bus, honey. A long day marching." He doesn't care. He wants to be on that bus. He wants to march.
I'm going to leave you with a quote from Ken Kesey:
There are going to be times when we can't wait for somebody. Now, you're either on the bus or off the bus. If you're on the bus, and you get left behind, then you'll find it again. If you're off the bus in the first place — then it won't make a damn.
Which Wardrobe Do I Go With: Stevie Nicks or Chrissie Hynde?
Tonight I'm going to see The Pretenders and Stevie Nicks.
Yes, you read that right. It leaves me confounded with a wardrobe choice! When I went to see Night of 1000 Stevie's I wore a long black ruffly skirt with a long black cape. My hair down and feathered. I did my very best Stevie Nicks.

But I'm kind of thinking that I want to go a little Chrissie Hynde. I want to do a muscle t-shirt and black jeans.

Or I can do a mix of both. Look at this outfit from Zara. Long sequined skirt with rock and roll t-shirt? It feels very much like I'm representing both women. Obviously the shirt shouldn't be a Rolling Stones shirt--I'm not wearing any shirt with a bunch of men on it. I'll get a Stevie Nicks t-shirt at the show and rock it properly! With heeled boots, of course.

Update: I bought the skirt at Zara yesterday and it's amazing.
What I'm Reading, Watching, Flipping Out Over, Obsessing Over
Trump brags about charity donations that he never made. The resurgent appeal of Stevie Nicks. Follow RHONY Carole Radziwill on Twitter because she has excellent political insight! Trump is also being investigated by the FBI, but they oddly didn't announce anything a week before the election like someone else I know. Theories on what sent Kanye to the hospital. New moon in Sagittarius means it's time for change. Andy and I just started watching Rectify; this is Emily Nussbaum's review of it. Stevie Nicks doing Sara. No one cares when men commit sexual assault, they just pretend to care. Am I right?

Have a nice week. (At least try.)
