Pre-Order Something Happened to Ali Greenleaf Seven years ago I signed with my agent. I thought this kind of thing happens quickly. You get an agent. Someone wants to buy your book and BOOM you're on the NYT Best Seller List. I know this is naive and ridiculous to think this way. I'm really a jaded person at heart. My motto is don't trust anyone. Don't trust anything. I tell this to my children. Don't even trust me, and I'm your mother. (Okay, hopefully they at least trust me.) It's not a great way to think. But this is part of my make up.
